I don't think changing the color has any effect on the stats of the lightsaber. I am using a purple double bladed lightsaber. I use the crystal that stuns your opponent and the other one that does.

You recieve an Energy Cell Fixture after completing Citadel Station.3. Complete Telos and travel to Nar Shadaa.4. If you have followed the alignment note's advice, leave and reenter the Ebon Hawk. Defeat Visas. You defeat her and recieve an Emitter.5. Go to the Flophouse from Nar Shadaa Docks. The second-to-last door has Lootra in it.

You recieve a Lens Fixture.6. Talk to Bao-Dur. You can get a lightsaber!7. (Optional) Go to Dantooine. There is a Crystal Cave here to change your saber color if you want, along with an 'attuned' crystal that adapts the saber stats to match yours.
