Okay, working fix (at least for me). First, go, download and install the hardware acceleration fix that allows the game to run in NT compatibility mode.Next, create a shortcut to your cataclysm.exe file.

Right click it, click properties, and change the target to C:your file pathcataclysm.exe /heap 256000000 /enableSSE /triple /disableAVI /safeGLRun Cataclysm.exe using your shortcut, go to the video options and select 'default OpenGL under' 'rendering system.'
